There is a story behind these pretzels. I made them way back when Captain Himself deployed to Haiti. Along with some other treats like baking and sealing a cake in a jar (yes I was doing that in the 90′s) and homemade beef jerky and dried fruit, these pretzels would make the long journey to Haiti with some lucky soldier who would get his own box of treats for getting Himself’s package down to him. When I visited the company just before a new group flew down to Haiti, I had many young guys line up and volunteer to personally escort Captain Himself’s pogey bait*. “Ma’am is that Capt. Himself’s box, I’ll carry it to him and see he gets it.” Tip hat, smirk, and runs off to the other soldiers yelling, “Ha, I got Capt. Himself’s pogey bait this time!”
These are garlicky, salty, and addictive. HOOAH!

I've had this recipe using oyster crackers and they were delicious – I'm sure the pretzels are, too!
These sound addictive for sure. Love all the bake sale items and the beautiful couple in DC!
These are a perfect snack!
These are truly fabulous! I think I ate half a bag; yummy.
The pretzels look yummy but I'm more taken with the background story, having 3 sons who were military, one is still active duty and stationed in Germany. And color me curious about the German embassy party!
Yummy- these are always so good. I would use butter :O, hahaha.
Those sound great! I have been looking for a good snack for the weekly potluck/ small group bible study I attend. Can't wait to try them.
maybe with pumpkin seeds? yum!
These look fabulous! Just had to give them a spin but did not have ranch seasoning handy so I combined garlic onion and buffalo ranch dip from DebbiesDips.com. Oh be still my heart – they are grand! Going to add some nuts the next time and will share them as gifts! Thanks bunches for the idea!
