It’s Like a Yoo-hoo for Adults

I will go ahead and throw my hat in the ring and declare myself a conformist and present you with a Valentine’s Day treat along with the millions of other food bloggers. I have to at least give you one VD goodie, right? Well here it is, this totally classy (cheesy) bottle of ChocoVine. Chilled. It’s red wine and chocolate. Total junk, but I love the stuff. So pass up on Yoo-Hoo’s and go for the ChocoVine this Valentine’s Day. Some one will love you for it. I have no idea who, but someone.

More VD Treats…
Valentine’s Day Candy Leis- no comment
Knock You Naked Valentine Brownies - do not eat at the office
Chocolate Pots de Creme- swoon
Bananas Foster- for that fiery relationship

I guess it’s a bad thing to shorten Valentine’s Day to VD.

Oh my gosh, I had forgotten all about this stuff! I love it! Our Wine & Spirits store had it on sale last year – I think I bought 6 bottles and enjoyed every last one of them over the last year (a guilty pleasure for sure). But, it's all gone now and I will have to go see if they have gotten more in stock.

I've seen this at the stores for awhile and wondered about how it tasted. Worth a try, eh?

I was watching the Ellen show one day and she had this on her show because she thought it was a ridiculous idea. I was thinking I'd like to try it! I found a port with chocolate extract (called Cocoa Vin) at Mission Mountain Winery in Dayton, MT and it is just heavenly. I'm going to look for the ChocoVine and give it a try!

HA! Sounds good. I did wonder why you were talking about VD and then I realized you meant Valentine's Day. Then I laughed some more!

We discovered this stuff early last year and stumbled on the raspberry version while in NOLA in August – we like them both.

Robin, where do you buy it? I live in your area so if it's local that would be awesome.

The main course could be "bacon beer" (which is really smoked beer like these, http://www.germanbeerinstitute.com/Rauchbier.html, with which I'm guessing you are familiar).

In addition to the ChocoVine, toss in any number of some aperitifs, and digestifs for a real "liquid lunch."

Laughed out loud, too, at the VD abbreviation.

Chocovine is my absolute favorite, wish I could drink it everyday!

    Try serving it like this:
