NAFST Fancy Food Show DC

The National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, NAFST’s Fancy Food Show here in DC is a spectacular sampling of fancy foods from all over the world. With over 2400 vendors including over 180,000 products, my friends and I were only able to cover about 30% of the show in the several hours we were there. I have never seen so many olives, cheeses, chocolates, teas, crackers, candy, wine, and other specialty foods in one place. Ever. As Himself like to put it, “It was a salty-sweet then tea, salty-sweet then coffee, salty-sweet then juice, salty-sweet then wine, over and over again experience.” That about sums it up.  That is Himself in the top photo over-looking the US and international floor of the show.  Click on all photos to enlarge. More…

Fresh. Colorful. Natural.

Oohs and ahs over the big glass and all I could think of was how to fit it in a dishwasher.

NASCAR modeling gig. Filling in for Tony Stewart.

Salmon Tapas from Chile

Hey, I know these guys. BRK has two recipes on their site. Cool.

"You distract the guard, while I fill my purse." Truffles. Want.

A wonderful way to spend the day. Thank you Theresa, Sonny, and Pacific Choice Brands, Inc. for a delicious experience!

Now that’d be a fun day! It’s kind of a shame it was so huge – think of all that people will miss.

Karen, it is 3 days long, but we took one day and went to the sections we wanted to see. But 2 more days there, and I would have been stuffed- so much to taste!!
